Obituary of Karen Marie Wohlleb
Karen Marie Wohlleb, 68, of Charlestown, Indiana passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. Karen was born June 8, 1954 in Saint Anthony, Indiana to the late Earl Messmer and Agnes Englert Merkle. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Clarksville, Indiana for over 46 years. Karen received her degree from Louisville Art School and was a proud artist that was associated with the Madison Art Club. She was a retired Secretary to the Postmaster General-Gardiner Lane Branch with over 37 years of service. After retirement, she was able to follow her passion of working for the Lord at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for two years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister in law, Jackie Acton. Karen is survived by her husband of 48 years, Anthony Wohlleb Jr.; two children, Jennifer "Jennie" Vincent (Jeremy) and Anthony E. Wohlleb (Teresa); a sister, Paula Turner (Rob); four grandchildren, Haley Logan (Josh), Samuel Tetrick, Hannah Vincent and James Wohlleb; one great-grandson, Justin Otto Logan; a brother in law, Mark Wohlleb; five nephews, Robert Earl Turner (Misti), Matt Wohlleb, Nik Wohlleb (Candice), Luke Wohlleb and Jon Acton; a niece, Sarah Newton (Zachary); three great nieces, Abigail Turner, Avery Wohlleb and Emma Wohlleb; one great nephew, Kade Wohlleb and her beloved cat, Snickers. Visitation for Karen will be held Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150. Funeral mass will be Friday, July 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 316 Sherwood Avenue, Clarksville, Indiana 47129 with burial to follow in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery with a luncheon to follow.
