John Jacob Shaffer

John Jacob Shaffer, 72, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022. John was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 15, 1950 to the late Samuel Ralph Shaffer and Lois Miller Shaffer. John spent his career as an IT Specialist and retired from Kindred Healthcare after retirement, he worked for Dr. Black's Eye Associates as a patient transporter. He was a member of the NRA Golden Eagles, SIRPC, and enjoyed off roading in his Jeep. He was an avid Notre Dame fan, animal lover, and enjoyed spending his free time with his German Shepherd, Hunter. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Ralph "Sonny" Shaffer; a sister, Charlotte Bullock; and beloved dogs, Beo and Luke. John is survived by his two children, Brittany Shaffer and Paul Shaffer; former wife, Malinda Kost; and his beloved dog, Hunter. A memorial visitation for John will be held Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150, followed by a memorial service at 6:00 PM. Expressions of sympathy are suggested to New Albany Floyd County Animal Shelter.
