IN THE CARE OF
Kraft Funeral Service & Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park
Janet Zurschmiede Budd, 65, passed away March 2, 2017 at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center at Louisville. Jan/Mom/Mayme was an outstanding wife/mother/grandmother and, loyal friend – once you earned it! Jan’s University of Louisville Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene served her well – to fluctuate from full-time to part time based on family need - as she herself desired. In 2006 Jan graduated from Sullivan University, at the top of her class, with degrees in Baking & Pastry and, Culinary Arts. Preceded in death – and who eagerly awaits her – by her father, Charles Speith Zurschmiede, Jan leaves many to cherish her memory: Husband of 43 years, Chet Budd; Daughter Valerie Annine (Israel) Temple; Son Charles Craig (Ashley) Budd. Also, the grandgirls! Vivian, Issabelle and Scarlett Temple. And, the grandboys! Jaxson, Kaden and Graysen Budd. Also, her mother Mary Ann Zurschmiede and brothers Steve (Oakland Park, FL) and Eric (Wichita, KS). While her nieces and nephews were spread out over distant states she had a special way of connecting with them at every visit. Cremation has always been her choice and, was done. Visitation will be Thursday, March 9th 4:00 to 8:00, at Kraft Funeral Service 2776 Charlestown Road in New Albany with a Budd/Zurschmiede reunion, then burial, at a later date. Yes, Glioblastoma won out eventually, but, Jan stood toe-to-toe with it for almost 5 years. We have enormous gratitude for the Hosparus Inpatient Team and their help to both Jan and, her family. In lieu of flowers we request that you consider splitting it between (Jan’s longtime favorite charity) SmileTrain.org and, Hosparus.org. With Hosparus, a note that your gift is to benefit the Inpatient Center.
