Delcie "Dottie" Atkins

Delcie “Dottie” Atkins, 84 years of age passed away on November 29, 2021 at her home in New Albany with her grandson, Jon and caretakers, Chasidy Lawless and Toni Brown at her side. She was born February 3, 1937 in Corbin, KY to the late Walter Monhollen and Donna E. Lawless. She was a retired manager from the old Poor Boys Restaurant in New Albany, and was a member of the New Born Full Gospel Church in New Albany since 1977. Dottie enjoyed playing the guitar and singing at her church, but most of all loved her family especially her grandchildren. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Atkins, daughter, Joyce Gore, and sisters, Barbara Gross and Janet Lawless. Survivors include her grandsons, Jon and Calvin Gore, great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Parker, Cecilia, and Miles Gore, siblings, Irene French, Bo Monhollen, Delbert Monhollen, Wanda Taylor, Lena Gross, and Bill Lawless. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday and after 10:00 am Friday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150. Her funeral service will be 12:00 pm Friday at the funeral home chapel with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
