Darrell R. Summers, 68, of Charlestown, Indiana affectionately known as "Squirrel" or "Hound Dog" passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at University of Louisville Hospital after injuries sustained from a fall. Darrell was born in New Albany, Indiana on January 11, 1956 to the late Joseph and Delores Summers. He was the owner/operator of Summers Grading Service LLC. He was an avid muscle car collector and loved restoring his 1957 Corvette.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Joey Summers and two nephews, Michael Sheegog and William Harbin.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Charlene Summers; two children, Jeanie (Mike) Ferguson and Jason (Heather) Summers; two and a half grandchildren, Brantley Summers and Ty Summers; siblings, Diana Day and Steve (Luann) Summers; and several nieces and nephews
Visitation will be from 12-8 pm on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 and from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150. Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at Kraft Funeral Service with entombment to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
