Charles W. Alvey Jr., age 74 passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on May 28, 1950, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Charles Alvey Sr. and Clarissa Eubank Alvey. Billy was a lifelong farmer and was a retired maintenance supervisor with Morgan Foods. He was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church and was an avid coon hunter in his younger days.
Billy is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Janet M. Alvey; three children, Angie Tevis (Danny), Gary Alvey (Heather) and Kevin Alvey; nine grandchildren, Cody Tevis (Sarah), Jacob Tevis, Hannah Campbell (Isaac), Katelin Alvey, Dalton Alvey, Josey Alvey, Elijah Alvey, Abel Alvey and Carly Alvey; five great grandchildren, Sawyer Campbell, Waylon Campbell, Wren Alvey, Oliver Tevis and Amelia Tevis; four siblings, Tammy Campbell (Sonny), Karen Campbell, Shelia Pennington (Steve) and Melynda Nash (Jeff); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Charles will be held Monday, July 22, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, 5719 St. Mary's Road, Floyds Knobs, Indiana 47119
Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, 5719 St. Mary's Road, Floyds Knobs, Indiana 47119. Charles will be laid to rest in St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Cemetery.
