Bill Lewis Worden

Bill Lewis Worden, was born on February 23,1924 in Shoals, Indiana to his parents Homer and Hazel Worden. He was the first born of four children. He began his career in the Navy and is a World War II veteran. Throughout his life he was a so called, "Jack of all Trades" working as a contractor, inventor, pilot, entrepreneur, car dealer, record studio owner, coal broker, and car mechanic.
 
He had the innate ability to share a captivating story and was a great artist. Often you will hear people say, "Bill would give you the shirt of his back." He was a hard worker and a man who always put his whole heart into all aspects of his life. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He recently celebrated his 90th birthday and spent his last days in Floyds Knobs, IN with his wife of 23 years Helga Worden. He is loved by many and will be deeply missed.
 
He is preceded in death by his parents Homer and Hazel Worden, his wife of 46 years Donna L Worden, his two grandchildren Shannon Worden and Tamera Pease, and great grandchild, Jacob Noe. He is survived by his wife Helga Worden and his brothers and sisters Dora Ann Belviy, Kenneth Worden, and Donald Worden. Also by children Billy and Bev Worden, Patty and Bob Ashelfelter, Shawn and Rita Worden, Kelly Demsey, Casey and Edward Read, and Mickie Magnuson, as well as, 13 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, along with many loving nieces and nephews, and beloved dog Daisy.
 Bill’s wishes were to be cremated. His Memorial visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm Wednesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Rd., New Albany, IN. Memorial service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held 7:00 pm Wednesday at the Kraft Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Floyd County Animal Shelter, 215 W.
