Stanley Cecil Kreitz of Winnipeg passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024, at Kildonan Personal Care Home at the age of 93.
Stan was born on October 19,1931 to Albert Kreitz and Helen Bissonette in Saint Boniface, MB. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a man of strong faith. In 1955, Stan married the love of his life, Marlene DeBlaere, enjoying 64 years of marriage before Momma’s passing in 2019.
Stan will be lovingly remembered by his children: Ali (Fraser) McNeill, Kate (Ron) Klassen, Carla Steidl, and Don (Kerri) Kreitz, grandchildren, Christopher, Jennifer, Matthew, Kristen, Meaghan, Brett, Amanda, Brittney, Sydney, and Hayden and many great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Helen, his wife Marlene, his siblings, Margaret, Lawrence, Charlotte, & Glen Allen, and his two children, Cynthia and Keith (Corrie).
Stan was a Chartered Accountant and was employed by Revenue Canada for 30 years and taught accounting classes through Red River College before retiring in 1986. A remarkable thing about him was his endless generosity. He was always giving – whether it was his love, kindness, support, knowledge, time, or charity. He knew how to make people laugh and put a smile on everyone’s face.
Stan was very active in the parish of Saint Bernadette and Saint Boniface Diocese doing volunteer work and bookkeeping. Stan was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. In his retirement, Stan loved spending his time on wood working projects. His family has many items made with love by him that will be treasured.
The family would like to send a very special thank you to the nurses and caregivers at Kildonan Personal Care Home for their compassionate care of Stan.
A celebration of Stan’s life will be held at St. Bernadette Parish (820 Cottonwood Road) at 11:00 am on Friday, December 20,2024.
