Rita Margarete Thielk passed away peacefully, after a long illness, at Golden West Care Home on December 5, 2019. She was 85 years of age and was born in Lissen, Angerburg, East Prussia on January 5, 1934.
She married her life long partner, Guenther Thielk, in 1953 in East Germany, and with Guenther and their young family, immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1965, where they raised their four children.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters Gabriele (Alan), Sybille (Stephen), her sons Heiko and Joerg, her grandchildren, Dustin (Julie), Jaclyn (Jamie), Sarah (Tyler), Jennifer, Matthew (Liesbeth), Meghan, Addison and Teagan as well as her great grandchildren Joshua, Jackson, Jacob, Elizabeth and Alexander.
She was predeceased by her husband Guenther on August 24, 1993.
The family would like to express our appreciation for the care provided to Rita by the staff on the second floor of Golden West Care Home.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside celebration of Rita's life is scheduled at Green Acres Cemetery for June 20, 2020
