Michael passed away on December 17th, following a brave fight with cancer.
He was predeceased by his mother, Phyllis (1994) and his father Stephen (1983). He had no siblings nor any children.
Michael was born in Winnipeg and lived his entire life in Manitoba; expressing no desire to live elsewhere.
His parents impressed upon him the need for a good education. As a result, he acquired three degrees from the University of Manitoba, with his final degree an MBA.
After graduation, he started what would turn out to be a rewarding, lifelong career with the Credit Union Central of Manitoba in marketing. There, he made friends for life with a number of his colleagues whom he kept in touch with after his retirement.
Michael loved dogs, and was particularly fascinated by golden retrievers. He ended up caring for three of these retrievers in succession until incapacitated by the effects of his cancer.
Due to Covid-19 and Michael’s final wishes, there will be no formal services. Respecting his wishes, cremation will take place.
Michael commented on the kindness and professionalism of his doctors, nurses and home care workers throughout his ordeal and so a special thank you is given to them.
For those who knew Michael, and wish to do so, they may make a donation to Cancer Care Manitoba, or any other charity of their choosing.
