John David Erickson

Peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends John passed away.

He leaves to mourn him his sons Cameron (Dinnah) and Ryan (Lee), grandchildren Tristyn, Rayna and Brody, his sister Joanne Makeiff (Mike) and brother Ed Erickson (Patti) of Kamloops, BC, niece Ashley Hayward and nephews Murray Erickson and Kyle Erickson. John was predeceased by his father John Sr.in 1975 and his mother Estelle (Richard) in 2017.Johns final resting place will be with them at Green Acres Cemetery with a private family graveside.

John grew up in Windsor Park and graduated from Windsor Park Collegiate in 1972, as a boy John was in sea cadets and later completed his private pilots license. However, he found his passion as a long haul trucker, which he enjoyed for 51 years. This allowed him to travel coast to coast in North America. He lived and worked in Atlanta, GA for 15 years but Winnipeg was always home. John's greatest joy was his loyal canine companion Chrissy who passed away in 2023 and he has missed her greatly every day. With that in mind, donations in John’s memory can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
