Peacefully on March 6, 2023 at Health Sciences Centre, Ed Gander passed away with family and friends at his side. He was 78.
He is predeceased by his parents Hilda and Jim Gander, his loving wife Carol and brothers Warren and Raymond. He is survived by his sons Jason (Tanya) and Trent, nephews Michael, Jeff, and Ryan; and niece Maureen.
Ed was born June 1, 1944 in Kenora Ontario. Ed worked at the Canadian Grain Commission and retired after many years of service. Ed was an avid sports fan and played many sports. He loved to play hockey, golf and go snowmobiling, he also was a huge Nascar follower. Most days Ed would carry out his daily routine of making his rounds in his F150 and ending up at the Spike in Transcona having a beer with friends. Most summers Ed was gone to the cottage in Minaki where he spent most days fishing and then relaxing on the deck. He donated regularly to the Winnipeg Humane Society and adopted numerous pets; two cats, which he really loved, were Titus and Pebbles.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Health Sciences Centre and the MAID program.
A private family burial has taken place.
