Mr. Walter Marshall Williams age 94, of Nashville, TN, passed away September 8, 2016. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Burgess Williams, his parents, Walter M. and Mackie Parrish Williams and his sister, Ethel Lee Williams Osborne. He is survived by nephews, Mark Osborne and John Osborne; a niece, Linda Osborne Sharp; six grand nieces and nephews; thirteen great-grand nieces and nephews. A life-long Nashville resident, Walter was a member of Hillsboro Presbyterian Church since 1932. He retired from his business, Williams Safe and Lock Co, in 1978. He served in WWII from October 1943-August 1946 in the Army Air Corp as a flight engineer on the B29 and aircraft maintenance on B24 and B29. He retired from the United States Air Force Reserves in 1955. Other associations included the American Legion Post 5, Corinthian Lodge 414, and Scottish Rite 32nd Mason. Schooling included Central High School and Vanderbilt University. Graveside and interment services will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at two o’clock with Rev. Nancy Clodfelder of Grand Rapids, MI officiating. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request memorial contributions be made to Hillsboro Presbyterian Church, Alive Hospice, or Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.
