Thomas Ewing Cannon was born on February 29, 1952 and passed away unexpectedly on November 28, 2017. He was preceded in death by wife Carol Ward Cannon, parents John Robert and Mary Auston Cannon and brother James Carl Cannon (Carla).He is survived by his brothers John (Andrea), Pat (Sandra), and Chris (Paula), nieces Jennifer (Jonathan) Wheeler, Elizabeth Cannon, nephews Auston, Brandon and Ryan Cannon, and great-niece Elizabeth Wheeler. Tom was born in Fairfield, AL and spent the majority of his life in Nashville, TN. He graduated from Christ the King School, Father Ryan High School and attended Aquinas College. He retired from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office after many years of service. Tom’s hobbies included his saltwater tropical fish tanks, spending time with family, watching nieces and nephews play various sports and Tom was a passionate fan of the University of Alabama Crimson Tide. Tom and Carol took numerous trips over the years to see their beloved Crimson Tide play some of their biggest games in school history. Tom was a comedian and a wordsmith, he never met a person he couldn’t strike up a conversation with and loved telling stories.
Visitation and memorial service will be at Marshall Donnelly Combs in Nashville. Visitation hours are 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, December 5th and 11:00 am to 1:00pm on Wednesday, December 6. A private graveside service to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ladies of Charity Nashville 2216 State Street Nashville, TN 37203.
