Sue Carol Hadfield, age 87, passed away peacefully in Nashville, Tennessee on October 17, 2021. She was born on May 4, 1934, to Elmer William Voight and Helen Shelton Voight in Evansville, Indiana. Sue met the love of her life, George Gus Hadfield, on a blind date and together they cherished 67 years of marriage.
Sue was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She treasured her family and always put the needs of others above her own. Sue loved to travel and sew, and she especially loved to cook. Her family will always lovingly remember her homemade pecan pies, noodles, and cheeseburgers along with the many happy memories shared around her dining table. Sue was a hard worker and spent many hours doing volunteer work for her children’s schools, churches and the Morning Side II Association.
Sue is survived by husband George Gus Hadfield of Nashville, TN; Her children Scott Hadfield (Kathy) and Beth Goggans (Randy); Sister Jane Cates; grandchildren Brian Hadfield (Chelsey), Matthew Goggans, Sarah Hadfield (Erin), Megan Perry (Ben); great-grandchildren Hallie Hadfield, Georgia Hadfield, Mariah Hadfield-Stanton, Sage Hadfield-Stanton and Gavin Hadfield-Stanton. Family and friends of Sue will never forget her boundless love and they will carry her spirit forward with them for the rest of their lives.
Please join our celebration of her wonderfully loving life and legacy at eleven o'clock in the morning on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 in Dignity Hall of Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home with a Gathering of Family and Friends one hour prior to the service.
