Born in Rossville, Georgia March 26, 1935 to James and Bessie Thurman, Ann lived most of her life in the South Nashville and Brentwood communities. A 1953 graduate of Central High School in Nashville, she met and married Robert L. “Bob” Whitson in 1955 while working at Life and Casualty in the tower downtown. Together, they had a life-long impact on the communities of Radnor, Crieve Hall, and Brentwood through their involvement in the Radnor and Judson Baptist Churches, Overton High School, Brentwood Academy, and Montgomery Bell Academy.
Preceded in death by her husband, she is survived by her children Robin (Mark) Langlois, Terry (Steve) Fralick, Scott (Pat) Whitson and Bobby (Danielle) Whitson. Grandchildren, Jeremy (Lora) Langlois, Wesley Langlois, Braxton Fralick, Peyton Fralick, Whit Whitson, Karli Whitson, Morgan Whitson, McLean Whitson, and Meredith Whitson. Great grandchildren Elizabeth, Catherine, Anna, and James Langlois.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be on Monday, January 6, 2020 from six o’clock until eight o’clock at Woodlawn Roesch Patton Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life with burial following will be held at eleven thirty in the morning on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 with visitation from ten o’clock until the time of service in Dignity Hall at Woodlawn with Dr. Raymond Langlois officiating.
