BUCK, Roy FosterAge 95 of Nashville, TN, passed away March 28, 2013. Roy grew up in East Nashville and was a Veteran of War World II, serving as a Bombardier in the Mighty Eighth Air Force. He flew in 35 missions before crashing on the final mission. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Metal with Clusters. He was a longtime member of Andrew Price Memorial United Methodist Church. He loved his grandchildren, gardening and fishing. His last 5 years of life were spent in Texas near his daughter. Preceded in death by his 1st wife of 29 years, Helen Castleman Buck; 2nd wife of 27 years, Evelyn Thomson Buck; parents, John A. and Charity Buck; 1 brother and 2 sisters, and step-grandson, Ben. Survived by his daughter, Diane Buck Castleman (Ron); grandson, Joe Castleman (Ege); granddaughters, Kristen Day (Aaron) and Sara Hjelm (Dan); 6 great-grandchildren; stepdaughters, Joyce McCutcheon (Larry), Gale Sheehan and Jean Smith; 6 step-grandchildren; 10 step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; 2 special friends, Colleen Atkinson and A.D. (Junior) Martin. A funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Nashville, TN. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., and 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
