Ron was born on August 12, 1948 in Memphis, TN, the son of Lemuel H. and Lillian Roberta Couch. He attended and graduated from Memphis State University, and now the University of Memphis. He married Sharron Childs on May 22, 1971 in Memphis.
Ron worked for over 22 years for Odom’s Tennessee Pride as an EDI Specialist. When he was not working, you could find him riding his motorcycle, helping someone in need, camping, enjoying nature, visiting a zoo, watching baseball or the Titans, and spending time with family. He was a strong and faithful Christian.
From 1972-1995 he was a member of First Baptist Church and worked with first and second grade RA’s, served on many committees and built the church’s Christmas floats that were entered in the Nashville Christmas Parade. From 1995 to present he has been a member of Brentwood Baptist Church and an active member of the Encouragers Sunday School class. He looked forward to the Great Day of Service to work with church members to provide a service to someone in need. Along with others from church, Ron would lead devotionals at My Friends House a Boys Home in Franklin or take his grill and grill burgers for the boys. He was a member of the Pontiac Classic Car Club, and would drive his ’72 firebird to attend the classic car show, Cars and Coffee in Coolsprings. He and his wife, Sharron and children were 20-year members of the TN Roadrunners Camping Club and have many great memories and lifetime friendships that they will forever cherish. He participated in several Habitat for Humanity home builds.
Ron was strong-willed and fought cancer courageously. He lived his life to the fullest, and loved and cherished every moment with his family, friends, and church family. He will be greatly missed.
Surviving is his wife, Sharron; son, Philip Couch and his wife, Amy of Murfreesboro; daughter, Kimberly Linderman and her husband, Ben of Spring Hill; granddaughter, Lorelai Couch; sister, Jane Baldwin and husband Tom of Pass Christian, MS; brother, Tom Couch of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.
