Robert "Mark "Davis, age 60, of Thompsons Station, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021. Mark was born August 1, 1961 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Thomas O’Neal(T.O.) Davis and Betty Sue Layne Davis. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Sue Davis.
Mark was a 1979 graduate of John Overton High School in Nashville. He was a member of South End United Methodist Church in Nashville and Boy Scouts of America Troop 4 where he earned his Eagle Scout at age 14.
He began his career with Aircraft Services Incorporated at the Nashville Airport(BNA) then worked briefly for Delta Airlines in Knoxville, TN until transferring back to Nashville to work for Piedmont and American Airlines as a Ramp Agent Specialist. When American Airlines closed the Nashville(BNA) hub, he transferred to DFW (Dallas Fort Worth) Airport as a Fleet Service Specialist where he worked for 34 years. While living in Texas, he was a member of Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Texas.
Mark loved to walk, bike, and enjoy the outdoor beauty of God’s creation. Since moving back home to Tennessee, he especially loved walking in the parks and hills of Thompsons Station. Throughout his life he enjoyed attending many LPGA golf classics with his dad, watching professional tennis, golf, and football on TV. However, his favorite TV pastime was watching the classic "Andy Griffith Show”. Mark was a follower of Jesus and a gentle, kind, caring soul to everyone he met and a blessing to all that knew him. He cared for both of his parents as they aged and took them along with his sister on many memorable trips and vacations throughout the USA. He will be greatly missed by his sister, brother-in-law, aunts, cousins, and many friends and co-workers at American Airlines both in Nashville and in Dallas Fort Worth.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at ten o'clock in the morning on Friday, December 31, 2021 in Dignity Hall of Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home with a Gathering of Family and Friends one hour prior. Rev. Herbert Cunningham will officiate and interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Mark is survived by his sister, Katherine Davis (Mark) Wells of Franklin, Tennessee and niece, Sarah Wells Arnwine of Bentonville, Arkansas.
