Just heard the news over the weekend from seeing some former GJ coworkers of Norman's passing. He was a great person, enjoyed the years we worked together on the boat. Know he is missed by his family.

I was truly saddened about the passing of Norman. He was an incredible man. We miss and love you so much. You will always have a special place in our hearts. You're in a better place. R.I.P

Juliet are sisters so that makes me Uncle Norman's niece.  It's an
honor to be able to share some thoughts about Uncle Norman with you
today.

Anyone who spent any amount of time with him, knows that he had a
brutally honest sense of humor. He definitely called things like he
saw them. Uncle Norman could bust chops with the best of them and I
think this was a quality that endeared him to those who knew and loved
him.  If there was one person who could put up with Uncle Norman's
unique sense of humor, it was my Auntie Juliet.  Like all happily
married couples, there were many times when they drove each other
crazy over the years, but through it all, there was undoubted deep
love and impenetrable respect fortifying every step of their journey
together.

I was fortunate enough to spend some time with Uncle Norman and Auntie
Juliet last week during his final days in the hospital. I witnessed
something amazing and truly beyond this world. I experienced  the love
between them, watching their interactions as he lay in the hospital
bed. She spoke to him as only a loyal, loving wife could.  She
caressed his forehead, rubbed his feet and kissed his hands as both of
their eyes gazed upon each other.  It was in these touching, beautiful
moments, that I witnessed true, undying love.  Words cannot express
how such simple, intimate moments can hold such power and strength. I
consider myself blessed and grateful to both of them for allowing me
to be a witness to something so profoundly beautiful.

It's undeniable how much my Uncle Norman and Auntie Juliet loved each
other. It's a love that will last eternally.  Uncle Norman, you are in
a better place.  You are at peace.  Don't worry-  we will take care of
Auntie Juliet.  We love you and we will miss you.  We will see you
again on the other side.

He has been a good brother in law but he was more like a real brother to me. Even though he is not a filipino by blood, but we all know that he is a filipino in his heart and in his mind. Like me he is a natural joker, we ussually crack jokes whenenever we talk. I used to make him laugh all the time. One thing that I will surely miss is his weekly habit calling me. He will surely be missed. I know he is on a good place now. Thank you for all the good memories Big Brother. You'll stay in our hearts and memories.

Words are not enough to express everything. I know I should have told him this when he can still hear me, when he can still speak to me, when he can still see me or when he can still have coffee with me... He is more than an uncle to me, he is like a dad to me and to my sister kay. He loves us so much and we love him so dearly... though far apart. I am thanking God that he gave him to us especially to auntie who made her feel so special and loved. And to those people who have been around him im sure that they felt the same way. His skin may be different from ours but he has been like us eversince. He has been everything to us, a dad, an uncle, a brother, a friend. He never failed to be there when needed. He is simply a good person with a kind heart. We are so fortunate to have known him and be with him. One thing i know that Uncle would have loved to go home to the philippines because it is where his family is... he will be missed so much. I will definitely miss his phone calls every week just to check up on me if im ok. I am deeply saddened that I cant be there physically as much as I would want to, but my thoughts, prayers and love are always with him... thank you uncle for everything...You have lived great and you have loved much. Go home and we'll see you in time. I love you.

Norman thompson.... uncle, godfather and daddy... he has been my second dad, he spoiled me so much... he has shown me his unconditional love and im lucky and greatful for that. He's a goodman with a good heart. He had love us as his own family, he always say that "my family is in the philippines"... and yes we are his family and loosing him breaks our,,, " MY HEART" so much..
Daddy uncle, (this is what i call him) i know you still dont want to leave us esp auntie, dont worry about auntie will take care of her," I WILL TAKE CARE OF HER AS MY OWN MOTHER" and thats a promise... remember when you ask me if i will take care of you and auntie when you grow old? and i said ofcourse i will! Promise! But unfortunately, didnt have the chance to that for you.. and it breaks my heart... but you know how much i love you so much... i will miss you so much... u will always be in my heart... i know you are happy with our Lord and you will look after us esp auntie.. this not goodbye coz i know you will always be around us.. I LOVE YOU DADDDY UNCLE..

Grandpa, we will miss you, but I know you are in a better place now and your chest won't hurt anymore . Thank you for everything. I know, I will always remember you. I will miss the things we do, going to the mall, to the Zoo, coming to my school especially on grandparent's day , playing with me, taking me down the office to sing, helping me sell cookies for my school, taking me to General Jackson as I call it my "Granpa's Boat" taking care of me and always there for me. Keep watching on me grandpa. I will try my best for you, so you will always be proud of me. You will always be in my heart. I will always be your little peanut. Love you Grandpa.

I've known Uncle Norman for almost 20 years through Auntie Juliet . He is a loving person, strong willed and a man with principle. He treated me like his very own and considered us his family. He will always be remembered and we will always treasure the memories we shared together. Thank you Uncle Norman for always being there for us. We love you!

I've always had much respect for Norman, more so now that I'm older than when I was younger working for him on those early morning cruises on the General Jackson. As I sat at his funeral I thought to myself how rich of a man he was. Rich with things money can never buy. 76 wonderful years, a loving wife by his side until the last moment, and a very large extended loving family across the globe, as well as co-workers who looked up to his stern but fair ways. People are introduced in your life for reasons and there was definitely a reason Norman was in mine. We will all see you again soon Norman.

Words can't describe the love Uncle Norman had for his family  two legs and the four legs kind.  We will miss you Uncle Norman very much.

I have so many fond memories or Norman.  He always had high standards but was loved and respected by all those he worked with.  You will be missed.  Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Uncle norman, though we havent had much time together, i felt your sincere acceptance and warm welcome to a newly found relative. In a short span we've known each other, you embraced me with so much care and thoughts. Thank you for checking up on me to see how am i doing. Thank you for making me feel that i am not alone, thank you for understanding my absences on occassions special for you. I am happy to fly kiss with you before i went home to say goodbye while you are in a hospital bed. Last time i saw you, is you are smiling at me and i will keep that forever. Uncle norman, you will be missed and cherished. We love you!

To Juliet, Norman was a great man. He touched a lot if lives . Mine being one of them. He will be missed by all. It was a honor to have known him. I will keep you and you're family in my prayers!

I'm gonna miss you .Norman a wonderful person. I will remember you in my prayers.
