Nell Gentry

Nell Gentry departed this life on March 23, 2016 to receive her eternal reward and be with her Savior for all eternity. She was a believer in Jesus Christ and trusted Him as her Savior and Lord. She leaves a great legacy of love and faith.

Nellie Virginia Hill Gentry was born in Franklin County on August 19, 1940 to Bertha Olivia Mooney and James Bransford Hill. Nell had four siblings: John Hill, Donald Hill, Beulah Jean Hill Crownover and Louise Mooney. She married Charles Gentry on January 26, 1958 and they were married until his death in October 2004. Charles and Nell had four children. Charles Michael Gentry, Rose Marie Gentry Logan (David, Jennifer [Michael Karma, Kylee, Khloe,] Sam, and Luke), Teresa Fay Gentry Snyder (Jon, Derek, Jacob [Kari, Gracie, Esther], Josh, and John Thurman Gentry ( Vickie, Candee, Dalton [Kyra], Jessica Danielle [Alexis, Kenedi], and Peyton [Cody]. Gail Crownover Moore (niece) was also like a daughter to her. After the passing of Charles, Nell had a brief marriage to Jack Henley [David] until his death.

Her legacy lives on in the family she leaves behind. Nell loved God, served others, and adored her four children, nine grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. She was filled with unconditional love for everyone, and even in the most difficult of circumstances, demonstrated grace and strong faith. She was a homemaker, ran an in-home day care center, and later in life was an office manager in the medical field.
