Mildred Gentry Smith, 90, passed from this life September 2, 2022. She was born September 18, 1931 in Jackson County, Tennessee to the late Winters L Gentry and A. V. Gentry. She was preceded in death by her husband Oral T. Smith; brothers, James Hollis Gentry and Roy C Gentry.
She is survived by her brother; Edward Gentry of Toledo, OH, daughter, Sherry (Bruce) Reid of Mt. Juliet, TN Son, John W. (Georganne) Smith of Nashville, TN, Grandchildren, Alicia (Brian) Roberts, Amanda (Richie) Bannister; Amy (B.J.) Morris; Hailey (Juan) Ovalle; David Smith and 10 great-Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A native of Jackson County, TN she lived in Nashville for the past 67 years. Mildred was a wonderful homemaker and loving wife and mother. She loved being outside in the yard whether doing yardwork or just enjoying the flowers and birds. She was a faithful member of the Lebanon Road Church of Christ for the past 64 years. She will be lovingly missed by her family and many friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday September 10, 2022 at the Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home 429 Donelson Pike, Nashville, TN. Visitation will be held on Friday September 9, 2022 from 5:00PM – 8:00PM and 1 hour before the celebration of life service. Interment will follow at 2:30PM at the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in Gainesboro, TN. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions in Mildred’s memory to Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Fund, 410 Allied Drive, Nashville, Tennessee 37211 or to the charity of your choice.
