Mikel Wayne Krisle, beloved father, grandfather, and friend to many, passed away on March 28th, 2024, in Clarksville, Tennessee. He was born on September 2nd, 1948, in Springfield, Tennessee, to the late Cleburn Elvis Krisle and Mary Margaret Bollinger.
Krisle graduated from Springfield High School in 1968 (1969), where he laid the foundation for a life dedicated to learning and growth. He then pursued his higher education at Austin Peay State University, obtaining a degree in psychology, further cultivating his passion for knowledge and community.
Mikel's life was one of simplicity and devotion to his family. His daughter Kechia M. Wooden (Kelly) meant the world to him, and he cherished every moment spent with her. His grandchildren Tori, Hunter, and Graham brought immeasurable joy into his life, and he took great pride in watching them grow.
Peggy Hooper (sister), Martha Tate (sister), Jerry Krisle (brother), Jimmy Wade Krisle (brother), Mikel Ryan (son), and Rodney Dewayne (son) precede Mikel in death. He is survived by Kechia M. Wooden (Kelly), Camille M. LaBorg (his first wife and mother of his only daughter), Glenda Moore, (Second wife and mother to his two late sons,) Connie Swann (sister), Jane Covington (sister), Betty Stewart (sister), Paulette Burroughs (sister), Susan Atchley (sister), Tori Krisle (first grandchild), Hunter Krisle (second grandchild), and Graham Krisle (third grandchild).
Mikel found solace and joy in the serenity of his garden, where he cultivated a bounty of tomatoes, squash, peppers, and more. His love for the outdoors extended to sunny afternoons spent on his back porch, enjoying the simple pleasures of nature. Additionally, he cherished the art of canning; turning his harvests into delicious canned goods to share with friends and family, which became a beloved hobby in its own right.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Mikel's love for the game extended to both watching and participating in various sports activities. He found joy in the camaraderie of football and the precision of baseball, always eager to cheer on his favorite teams and engage in friendly competition with friends and family. Whether on the field or in the stands, Mikel's passion for sports was infectious, bringing together loved ones in shared moments of excitement and companionship.
Those who were fortunate enough to have known him cherish Mikel’s legacy of love, devotion and simplicity.
May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the warmth of the memories he leaves behind.
A celebration of life reception took place at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home and Memorial Park, (660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN. 37204.) on Sunday April, 7th 2024, and a memorial service followed.
