Michael Gregory Warner

Michael Gregory "Greg” Warner, born June 9, 1955, ended his struggle with cancer May 17, 2016. Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph Gottlieb “Rudy” Warner, III and Mary Margaret “Marge” Draper Warner. Surviving siblings are Gail (Lloyd) Griffin, Kathleen (David) Lawrence, Rebecca “Becky” Alexander, Veronica (Pat) Winn, Kevin Warner, Rachael (Pat) Dortch, and Regina (Matt) Chiames; nieces and nephews Kathleen (Jeffrey) Bailey, Richard (Nicole) Lynam, Matthew Winn, Nicholas Winn, Kevin Warner, Jr., Kelsey Lawrence, Parker Lawrence, Madeline “Maddie” Dortch, John Patrick “Jack” Dortch, Jr., Grace Dortch, Marina Chiames, Nicoletta Chiames, and grand-nieces and nephews Joshua Bailey, Brianna Bailey, Austin Lynam and Preston Lynam.

Greg was a 1973 graduate of Hillwood High School, and received his bachelors’ degree in Nuclear Physics from Vanderbilt University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Greg worked for many years in Information Technology service. He was a devoted film researcher, spending many hours online assuring credit was properly given. He was a trivia enthusiast, a passionate Vanderbilt Commodores fan, and a wonderful brother and uncle. Greg enjoyed intellectual challenge and always knew the answer to the most obscure questions.

Visitation is Friday, May 20, from 4 pm – 8 pm at Marshall-Donnelly-Combs with rosary beginning at 7pm. Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 21, 11:30 am at Church of the Assumption, 1227 7th Ave. N., with internment following at Calvary Cemetery. Nephews will serve as Pallbearers.
