Michael Denton Eaves was born June 18, 1958 in Nashville, Tennessee. He was the first of three children born to Calvin Denton Eaves and Jo Ellen Eaves. He passed from this life on Sunday, June 12, 2022.
Michael accepted Christ as his Savior and Lord at an early age and began learning the Word and sharing his faith through service and music as an active member of Radnor Baptist Church in Nashville, and then Dickson First Baptist Church though his youth and young adult years.
Michael was educated in the Nashville Public School System until 1971. The family moved to Dickson that summer, and he continued his education. He was a graduate of Dickson County Senior High School. He received a Bachelor of Music degree in Church Music from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee with additional studies in religion at Union and mathematics from Austin Peay State University. Following his studies, he faithfully serviced congregations through his gifts of music and ministry at First Baptist Church, Paris Tennessee, First Baptist Church Dickson, and Fellowship Baptist Church in Dickson. Michael also spent several years in Salt Lake City, Utah supporting Christian ministry and working in IT and computer sales.
Michael is remembered for his love of Jesus, sweet and gentle spirit, encouragement of others and his love for music. He shared the love of Christ with those around him through the many gifts God gave him. Michael remained strong in his faith even as he experienced health challenges in his last few years.
Michael was preceded in death by his father Calvin Denton Eaves. He is survived by his mother, Jo Ellen Eaves, brother, Stephen Richard Eaves (wife, Linda) and sister Vicky Lynn Eaves Cowan (husband, Mike). He is also survived by nieces April Cowan Clark (husband, Frank), Jennifer Cowan Jones, (husband, Anthony), and Holly Nicole Eaves, and nephew Samuel Denton Eaves.
Receiving of friends is Saturday, June 25, 2022, 2-3 p.m.at First Baptist Church, Dickson, Tennessee. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the church.
