Mary Jo Grady

Passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at Alive Hospice-Madison, Madison, TN at the age of 85. She is survived by her four children: Jay (Deborah) Grady of Murfreesboro, TN; Joye (Neal) Harman of Mt. Juliet, TN; Jim (Kathy) Grady of Mt. Juliet, TN; and Jeff Grady of Donelson, TN; her brother Nolen (Gay) Brunson of Fayetteville, TN; her sister-in-law Sally Brunson Scott of Nashville, TN; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Bertha Mae Holt Brunson and Thad Davis Brunson; her brother and sister-in-law William D. and Velma Brunson; and her brother Harry H. Brunson. Mary Jo was a gifted artist and a retired teacher of Commercial Art in the Metro-Nashville high schools, including McGavock, Pearl-Cohn, Whites Creek, Hillsboro (her alma mater), and Hume Fogg. She taught with an effervescence and passion, tirelessly instilling in her students the love for art and encouraging them to fully develop their skills for becoming successful artists! Visitation will be held at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home on Saturday, October 29, 2016, from four to eight o’clock in the evening, and again on Sunday, October 30, 2016 one hour prior to service time which is at two-thirty on Sunday.
