Marjorie “Marge” was born in Riverdale, GA to Lela Mae Ragsdale Camp and Emmanuel Franklin Camp, Jr, and had one sister, Carolyn Camp (Dowd.) Both attended Shorter College in Rome GA, a girls-only Baptist college, where Marge majored in music. She taught school in Georgia for a time before moving to Tennessee with Madelyn Faulkner (Luckett), a former suite-mate from Shorter College who remained a lifelong friend. Both married and were members of Bethlehem United Methodist Church where they participated in the church choir, the United Methodist Women’s group, the Meals on Wheels program, and many other church programs. Marge was the church organist for several decades.
Marge and her husband, Bobby Morgan, were parents to three daughters, Peggie, Cathie, and Betsie. She supported her husband in his business endeavors and they were camping and traveling partners as well.
Marge remained in Grassland after Bobby’s death until 2018 when she moved to Betsie’s home in South Carolina due to health reasons. Her last months were spent at Wesley Commons in Greenwood, SC, a senior facility operated by the United Methodist Church.
She will be remembered as a faithful wife and mother, servant of her church and community as well as a witty, loving friend and family member to many. She also leaves behind 3 sons-in-laws, five grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 2 step-grandchildren, 3 step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
