Maggie Irene Sartain 91, of Nashville, died on Sunday, May 19, 2019. Irene was born on April 16, 1928 in Nashville, the daughter of Leon Hunter Sims and Maggie Irene Russell. She was an editor for United Methodist Publishing Company. She is predeceased by her parents; husband, David B. Sartain; son, David C. Sartain; sisters, Elizabeth Plumlee, Alice Craig, and Ruby Ginnings; brothers, Thomas Sims, William Sims, and James Sims. Surviving is a son, Roger (Faye) Sartain; daughter-in-law, Shirley Sartain ; grandson, Jeremy Sartain; granddaughter Dana Brown-LeBlanc (Lawrence) and one great-granddaughter, Kala Brown.
A gathering of friends and family will be on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 from four o’clock in the afternoon until seven o’clock in the evening at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. A second gathering of friends and family will be on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from twelve in the afternoon until one in the afternoon. A Celebration of Life will begin at one in the afternoon at Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
