Linda Joyce Ferguson, 78, of Columbia, TN, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024. Born in Nashville, TN, on October 30, 1946, she was the daughter of Robert Lee Jackson and Willard Samuel Bates. She was preceded in death by her son, Nicholas Kane Jr., her brother, Jerry Jackson, her grandson, Preston Chase Nichols, and her beloved husband, Frankie Ferguson.
Linda dedicated much of her life to her family and work. She had a long and fulfilling career in the printing industry, where she was involved in various roles, including bookbinding. Linda was devoted to her children and was known for her active participation in their lives. She was a proud member of the High School Band Moms Club, enjoyed bowling in leagues, and could always be found cheering at her children's soccer games.
Known for her love of cooking, Linda delighted her family and friends with her delicious meals. She was also an avid fisherwoman who cherished time spent on the water. Her love for the beach and Florida was unmatched, as was her enthusiasm for Elvis Presley. Whether she was enjoying a cold Coke, a hot cup of coffee, or spending time with loved ones, Linda was always the heart of every gathering.
Linda is survived by her sons, Darren (Melanie) Nichols, and Joel Smith; her daughters, Karren Montgomery Howington and Jamie (Pablo) Martinez-Smith; daughter-in-law Terri Kane; her grandchildren, Nicholas Kane III, Brittany Kane, Kimberly (Jason) Davis Weaks, Hannah Belcher, Lydia Martinez-Smith, Lillian Martinez-Smith, and Rory Martinez-Smith; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; her sister-in-law, Aleece Jackson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Linda's love for her family and her warm, caring nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She will be remembered for her kind heart, her unwavering love for her family, and her zest for life.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Friday, December 13, 2024 at 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN. Following will be a graveside service at 2:30 in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
