Judy Moncrief Wright of Nashville, TN went to be with our Lord on March 31, 2016. She was born in Gallatin, TN to the late Harry Whitney and Mary Ann Carr Moncrief. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 ½ years, John Dayton (J.D.) Wright; brother, Horace Carr Moncrief, Sr.; sisters, Nance Wilson Moncrief, Mary Louise Moncrief Graef, and Lura Belle Moncrief Sellars; and niece, Nancy Louise Sellars. Judy was a graduate of Gallatin High School and Draughns Business College in Nashville. She was a member of Blakemore United Methodist Church and contributed many hours of volunteering for various church projects and functions. She was also a passionate and accomplished bridge player, playing in many different groups. She was a kind, gentle and beautiful lady, and an amazing cook who loved entertaining and always had an incredible zest for life. Judy was always most proud of her family and devoted much time to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Harriett (Edwin) Polley; son, John Dayton (Linda) Wright, Jr.; grandchildren, Missy (Gene) Deal, Brad (Erin) Polley, Lindsay (Ricky) Doyal, and Jeremy Wright; great-grandchildren, Parker and John Deal and Anslee and Andrew Doyal. She is also survived by eleven nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Elaine Moncrief of Columbia, TN and Sara Wright Daugherty of Nashville, TN. Visitation will be held at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home on Sunday, April 3, 2016 from four to seven o’clock in the evening and again on Monday, April 4, 2016 from one-thirty to service time at two-thirty in the afternoon. Rev. Lynn Strother Hinkle officiating. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Grandsons and great-grandsons to serve as pallbearers. We would like to give special thanks to all the nurses and caregivers at NHC Franklin, TN especially Rachel, Sarah, Dawn, Ethan and many others. Also a special thank you to the staff, nurses and caregivers at Caris Hospice, Pastor Phillip, Dee, Eva, Sherry, Angela, and all of you who have been there for our family. All of you are such gifts to those whom you serve. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Blakemore United Methodist Church, 3601 West End Avenue, Nashville, TN, 37205.
