Judith Irene Richardson (Blanks) born on June 4th 1961 in Chicago was the youngest child of Mary Lynette Blanks (Schulenburg) and Elihu Clarence Blanks. Her elementary years revealed a fun loving “tom boy” climbing trees, bicycling and rollicking around parks and public schools in her Hyde Park neighborhood. Summers were spent with family in New York City, Wausau Wisconsin and at YMCA Camp Martin Johnson. Judi’s high school enrollment at boarding school brought her to Nashville where she excelled academically and planted lifelong roots in The Music City.
Her professional life in the insurance industry began at Corroon & Black (Willis) which enabled her to continue her education obtaining a Bachelor’s degree from Trevecca University while raising three cherished daughters. A fierce advocate for her clients while remaining an unflinchingly fair and honest intermediary, Judi advanced in her career spending 20 + years at Aon. Judi finished he career as Senior Vice President at Marsh, a business of Marsh McLennan.
While Judi excelled professionally her deepest love and care was showered on her husband of 20 years Lafayette Richardson, her children, close family members and friends. She loved the Lord and maintained an ever deepening faith that saw her through life’s travails with optimism and hope.
Honoring Judi’s memory and carrying forth her legacy are husband Lafayette Richardson, daughters Iris Salzinger (Zachary), Toni Gamez (Joseph), Toi Shropshire (Robert) , sister Mary Blanks (John Lumpkin), brothers David Blanks (Melanie) , Elihu Blanks (Renee) 7 grandchildren (number eight on the way with a due date on Judi’s birthday), nieces Alia Schultz, Danaya Blanks, nephews Daniel Blanks, Christian Blanks, John Lumpkin Jr. along with cousins and dear friends too numerous to count.
