Josh devoted his life to taking care of the elderly and those who needed help living a quality life. He loved the tropics, sunshine and warm weather, boating, being on the lake with friends and family. Josh loved to entertain, he always wanted others to have a good time in his company. His quick witted sayings would make everyone laugh and have a better day. His dogs (Jake and Sugar) were the love of his life. He loved his nieces and loved to pamper them with manicures, outings, and hugs. He was a loyal friend, he helped many friends and family in their time of need.
Josh was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Smithson; stepfather, Kieyotae Wiley; grand parents, Jim McKinney and Betty Bain.
Survived by his mother, Carrie McKinney Smithson-Wiley; brother, Jonathan Smithson (Alicia); nieces, Natilee, Mikenzie, Zoe, Gabriella and Celia; grandmother, Faye McKinney; aunt, Janice McKinney Smith; uncle, Jim (BB) McKinney; sister-in-law, Kasey Libecci; along with many other close friends and family.
A celebration of Josh's life will be held 12pm Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Hermitage Funeral Home with Pastor Josh Wooten officiating. Entombment will follow at the Hermitage Memorial Gardens with Chaz Smithson, Jeff Jenke, Tyler Langenderfer, Jonathan Smithson, Daniel Sene, Jon Vaughn, Michael Smithson and Josh Beals serving as pallbearers.
Visitation with the family will be held Monday from 5pm until 8pm and Tuesday 1 hour prior to the service at Hermitage Funeral Home.
