John "Rodney" Stringer Jr.

Rodney was born in Nashville, Tennessee on May 5, 1959. His mother was Marie Bedford Stringer and father was John Rodney Stringer, Sr. He was married in White Bluff, Tennessee on September 13, 1981 to Karen Gupton Stringer.

He graduated from Thompson High School in Alabaster, Alabama and attended Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. He was the chief owner of S & S Utility Sales, LLC since 2006 working as a manufacturer’s representative in the water industry primarily in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Georgia. He has worked in sales his whole career.

He was generous, funny, and personable. He enjoyed being with family and friends, he supported the University of Alabama and attended many football games there. He loved to go out to eat and spending time in his pool with his grandkids. He enjoyed target shooting. He enjoyed spending time at the lake with his friends in Alabama.

He was a member of several water utility associations including TAUD, MSRWA, GRWA, WEF and AWWA. He was a member at Royal Range USA.

Survivors are wife, Karen Gupton Stringer, daughters Kristi Allender (Shawn) and Ashlee Stringer of Franklin, Tennessee. Grand children Addison Allender and Bedford Allender. Sister, Alison Yee (Hilton) of Houston, TX.

He is preceded in death by his mother, father, and grandparents Alma and Duncan Bedford.

He loved his sweet dog, Maggie Moo, and his cat, Bailee. Contributions may be made to Samaritan’s Purse or to Hero Hound Rescue in Springhill, Tennessee.

A gathering of family and friends for Rodney will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204. A celebration of life will occur Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park.
