Survived by his wife Gloria, brother Fred, daughter Terri (Scott) Kemp, son Randal Ray, son Jack (Cheryl) Dunn, grandchildren Wesley Ray, Marina Dunn, Meredith Dunn, and Harrison Kemp. Preceded in death by his father Fred, mother Gladys, brother Charles, sister Ruth, sister Jean, and brother Ralph. Ernest grew up in Old Hickory, and graduated from DuPont High School. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, making many pleasant memories during his time in Alaska. He retired from the Ford Glass Plant in Nashville, belonged to the UAW Local 737, and regaled his family with funny stories of the people and events from his 40 years there. He worshipped at the Hermitage Presbyterian Church. Ernest never met a stranger, and regardless of where family travels took him, he always seemed to run into someone he knew. He loved Glo, his grandchildren, traveling, eating out, his Vols and Titans. Due to COVID, there be a graveside service for immediate family, with a celebration of life to follow at a later date. Family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made in Ernest's name to the National Kidney Foundation.
