89 years of age, passed peacefully on February 26, 2015 at Alive Hospice in Nashville. She is survived by her children Nancy (Richard) Ardrey and Philip L. Parker, Jr.; grandchildren Michele Ernst (Stephen) Massey, Bryan Ernst, Brooke Parker (Ryan) Hill, Jeremy and Scott Parker; great-grandchildren Dillon Massey and Liam Hill. As a teenager, Elizabeth’s commitment to hard work on the family farm resulted in her being named Tennessee’s 1941 state 4-H Home Grounds Beautification winner. Later, becoming a wife and mother found her quite active in the community from working in the school cafeteria to serving as school patrol mother to spending many hours fighting for city services for her rural area. Also, she held offices, and eventually served as president, in the local Home Demonstration Club, Mt. View PTA, and the Antioch High PTA. She volunteered with the Davidson County Civil Defense office, the Metropolitan Beautiful Commission, as well as in campaigns for numerous politicians. At every election for decades, Elizabeth would be a the local school faithfully serving at her post as registrar. Elizabeth always was an enthusiastic and ever present support to her children and grandchildren for their programs and sporting events. She was committed caregiver to her mother, her husband, youngest daughter (Linda), and youngest son (Richard), all whom have preceded her. Active pallbearers will include, Jeremy Parker, Scott Parker, Charles Stewart, Jr., Tommy Hester, Eddie Nichols and Mark Perez. Celebration of Life Service will be Sunday, March 1, 2015 at one o’clock in the afternoon in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall. Gathering of family and friends this afternoon from one o’clock until four o’clock, and Sunday from eleven until the service time at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
