Floyd Jones of Lebanon, TN, passed into the gates of heaven on June 2, 2019 due to acute kidney and heart failure. He was born on November 12, 1923. Mr. Jones is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Dorothy Evelyn Jones. He is survived by his only daughter, Melissa Eve Jones Callis (husband, Ronald); two grandsons, Ronald E. Callis, Jr. and Kenneth W. Callis (wife, Jessica); great grandchildren, Alexis, Amelia, and Joshua Callis; and other much-loved relatives and friends.
Mr. Jones was born in Cottontown, White County, Tennessee. He was an employee of Standard Candy Company, Tempco, and a retiree of the Ford Glass Plant. He was an Army Veteran of World War II, and was wounded by an IED which exploded under the truck in which he was a passenger. Mr. Jones was a faithful member of the Church of the Nazarene and a Christian for most of his adult life.
A visitation will be held from five o'clock in the evening until seven o'clock on Wednesday, June 5th, 2019 at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, and from twelve o'clock to one o'clock on Thursday, June 6th, 2019. A funeral service will be at one o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday with Rev. Gary Wilson of Lebanon First Church of the Nazarene presiding. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
