Evelyn Clara Brown affectionately known as “Clara” passed away Wednesday evening September 9, 2020. Clara was born on December 12, 1947 and was a lifelong resident of Nashville, Tennessee. She attended grade school at the Church of the Assumption in Germantown and graduated from Cathedral High School on West End. Clara was preceded in death by her parents Alfred J. (Buster) Brown Jr. and Pearl Yarbro Brown. Survived by her sister Ethel Scott (Randall), two brothers Joe Brown (Sharon) and Chris Brown and nephews Randy Scott (Missy) and Drew Brown. All who knew Clara also knew her pets Sammy Jo and Socks who have gone before and Suzie her constant companion after retirement.
Her work career spanned 50 years which included the Quality Inn and the Hilton Airport Inn, a short jaunt to Atlanta, some special times working at the Knights of Columbus and ended her career with her most treasured years working for Bill Garrett and team at the Metro Nashville Register of Deeds Office where she retired.
Clara’s life was full of loving, living, celebrating and just having fun. Her laugh was the best laugh ever. She loved to sing and you could always hear her beautiful voice at Midnight Mass. But, you cannot remember Clara Brown without remembering her cooking. If she knew you, she cooked for you and always knew what your favorite dish was. Once your paths crossed, you were a part of her life forever. For all her family and friends that will be missing her in the days to come, she would say “I am happy and with my Lord. See you all when the time comes”
