Eric John Watts

Eric was born on December 28, 1975 in Cookeville, TN to the Late Roy L. Watts and Carolyn S. Watts. He graduated from Ezell Harding High School before continuing his education at Vanderbilt University.

While at Vanderbilt, Eric studied ethnomusicology post-Civil War. His career was spent at Smyrna Waste Water and Harpeth Valley Waste Water Plant. Eric’s interests were reading, music Sci-Fi movies. He was an avid reader. Eric was also a DJ at WRVU and the Vanderbilt Radio Station where he advanced to Program Director. He loved his family more than anything, Eric was very close to his family and loved them dearly.

Eric is survived by his mother Carolyn Watts; sister, Alli Watts; maternal grandmother, Bettye McDaniel, Aunts and multiple cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Watts; maternal grandfather, J.D. McDaniel; paternal grandparents, Jimmy and Dora Prill Watts; first cousin, Katie Kennard.

A gathering of family and friends for Eric will be held Friday, July 21, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204. A gathering of family and friends will occur prior to the service Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will occur Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
