Elizabeth was born in Fairview, Tennessee and was the daughter of Governor Cleveland Caldwell and Alpha Omega Caldwell.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Mr. Charles W. Garton and her son, Richard Garton.
Elizabeth leaves to forever cherish her memory, loving daughter, Susann (Dennis) Smalling; grandchildren, Garrett Smalling, Gabrielle Smalling and Rebecca (Jeff) Garrett; great- grandchildren, Jake Garrett and Spencer Garrett and a host of other family and friends.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Monday, June 10 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Hibbett and Hailey Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, June 11 at 11:00 a.m. with a one hour visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the start of service.
Interment will follow services at Harpeth Hills Memorial Gardens.
