Doris Theresa Ayers McMinnis, age 98, passed away on September 27, 2024. She is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Jimmy McMinnis, sisters, Kathleen Chance, Marion Blackford and Marie King and a brother, John P. Ayers. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Doris loved her Parrish St. Ann’s Catholic Church. She was a graduate of the Cathedral of the Incarnation. She loved to travel, play golf and horse racing. She retired from the IRS after 35 years of service and also retired from St. Thomas Hospital. She was the past President of the Ladies of Charity, an auxiliary member of Cumberland Heights-Friends, Catholic Business Bureau, Nashville Women’s Suburban Golf Association and the Women’s club of Nashville.
Mike Ayers, Steve Ayers, Chris Ayers, Pat Chance, Corky Chance and Roy King will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 10-11 AM with a funeral mass to follow at 11 AM at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. 5101 Charlotte Ave. Nashville TN 37209. Interment will follow at Calvery Cemetery.
