Cynthia Jane Puckett departed this life, Monday December 7, 2020 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She was born October 6, 1949 in Dalton, GA, a daughter of the late Billy Puckett and Alline Puckett Teague. The world was her childhood playground; she lived in Japan, Panama and Hawaii, before returning to Dalton, where she raised her son. She was a “Jane of all Trades” who loved a new challenge, mastering new skills and finding new hobbies.
In her spare time, she was a radio DJ, a professional clown, a talk show host, a professional girl scout and a boy scout leader at a time when few women held this role. She earned two Master’s degrees, one in Business Administration and one in Biblical Studies. She was dedicated to her communities and was a devoted friend to many. She was most proud of her roles as a devoted mother, sister and grandmother.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Dylan Tyler Burnette and Gillian Wells Hooker; grandchildren, Oliver Andrew and Nora Jane Burnette all of Nashville, TN; sisters, Kay and Harold Stephenson of Dalton, GA, Pati and Gary Kelley of Dalton, brother, Billy Puckett.
