Cherryl was the second of two daughters born to John and Emily Lynch. She was raised in Nashville and graduated from Donelson High School, class of 1961. She worked at Genesco and later at AT&T (formerly BellSouth) until she retired.
Cherryl loved the Lord and was active in her church, at times teaching Sunday School, volunteering in Vacation Bible School, and raising her sons in the admonition of the Lord. She loved to cook and was always trying new recipes. She was well known for her Poppy Seed Chicken and Fudge Pies. Her life was centered around her family and those she loved. She always expressed her love without reservation. She appreciated nature and loved feeding and watching birds in her yard.
Cherryl was preceded in death by beloved husband of 32 years, Harvey Lee; parents, John and Emily Lynch; sons, Eddie Lee and Mike Lee; grandson, Cody Mattes; and great-granddaughter, Emma Phillips. She is survived by sister, Loretta Alleman; brothers-in-law, Marvis Lee (Del Jean), David Lee (Carlotta), sister-in law, Ruth Grubbs (Steve); sons, Vernon ‘Bo’ Lee (Bonnie), Jeff Lee, David ‘Marty’ Penton (Kristi), and John Penton (Mary Davis); daughter Jennifer Lee Ward; nephew, Blaine Alleman (Regina); grandchildren, Cheyene Mattes, Christine Phillips (Scott) , Briana Blaylock, Ben Dukes, Callyn Cornell (Michael); great-grandchildren, Sophia Ritchison, Scarlett and Graham Phillips, Elena Roos, Enolia, Virginia, and Olivia Cornell, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather to remember Cherryl at a visitation on Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Friday, March 10, 2023 from 10:30 am until 11:30 am at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11:30 am on Friday, March 10, 2023 with Brother Billie Friel officiating.
