Charles Marion Roselle

ROSELLE, Charles Marion - Age 94 of Nashville, passed away on December 28, 2011 at Baptist Hospital. He was born on March 16, 1917 in Mexico, MO and was raised in Warrensburg, MO. Preceded in death by parents, Martha Hutchinson Howard and Charles Campbell Roselle; sister, Martha Louise Davis. Survived by beloved wife of 70 years, Edna Ettredge Roselle of Shreveport, LA; son, Charles Richard (Mary Lea) Roselle of Nashville, TN; daughter, Mary Roselle (Michael) Glasgow of Charlotte, NC; 5 grandchildren, Steven Glasgow, Mary Glasgow Evans, John Glasgow, Christine Roselle Young, Charles Michael Roselle; and 11 great-grandchildren. Charles was a consummate family man who took great pride in each and every family member. He graduated from Central Missouri State College in Warrensburg, MO. From there, he received a fellowship for graduate study at Louisiana State University and earned a M.S. in mathematics. He had additional graduate work at: George Peabody College, University of Illinois at Champagne Urbana, and University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. While at the University of Illinois, he received the call to go into full-time Christian service and gave his life to college student ministries for 40 years. It was the love of his life to work with college students. He touched many lives and influenced many to go into the mission field. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Center Hill Lake for almost 6 years, at which time, he was able to enjoy the outdoors of hiking, fishing, and all living things. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church for 58 years and served as Life Deacon, as well as on many other committees. Memorial service to be held at First Baptist Church downtown, on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with family visitation immediately following.
