Cathy, Burt was such a blessing to our family and numerous others. We are missing him very much. He was always so much fun to be with, and we have many precious memories of our times together. He was a wonderful brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. He will always hold a very special place in our hearts.

Cathy, Michael, Casey and Aaron and family, we are so sorry for your loss. Burt always made Jon and me feel welcomed.  I remember Burt telling me how cool it was to have grandsons. He will be truly missed.

I was blessed to have such a wonderful brother-in-law; one that was so loving, caring and so special to me.  Burt was extremely unique in that he knew how to find a way to connect with every single person that he came in contact with.  Through this simple contact, Burt would then begin to foster a life long friendship  with that person.  Burt was able to do this because he never judged you for who you are.  He instead would listen intently to what you had to say because he was truly interested in you as a person, which was truly amazing.  The memories of our time together through family gatherings, holidays, vacations, sad times, happy times, etc. are numerous and will be cherished forever. Cathy, Burt was a special person and I've never met anyone quite like him.  I will always remember going to the Titans game with you and Burt in the freezing cold rain.  Burt gave me the coat he was going to wear and went and got another one.  Well, we still froze but that thought will always warm my heart.  What a generous, kind human being.  Casey and Michael, you had a great Dad.  They broke the mold with him.  All my love to you.

Cathy, I just saw the heart breaking news about Burt's passing. I'm so sorry. Burt was a fine man and I liked him very much. He was one of the few people I could visit with at the Berry functions that was completely genuine with no agenda or need to impress. He was himself, take it or leave it. He will be missed by many. You and Casey and Michael are in our prayers.

Cathy-Brian and I are so sorry for your loss of your best friend. Burt was a wonderful man who loved you all very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Cathy , I'm so sorry for your loss, Burt was a special close friend to me all these years and will remain in my heart and thoughts. I'm glad I got to talk with him last week and so sorry I did not make it down to see y'all. I will always have the cane he made me and cherish it for the rest of my years. If I can do anything for y'all let me know. My prayers are with you and your family, I know he's up there looking down on us with his grin.

Cathy, Casey and Michael....we were so saddened when we heard that Burt had passed. I will never forget the first time I meet him.  And the evening we stayed  at your house was so much fun, we really enjoyed him pulling out the old photo albums and telling us all the stories. He will forever be in our hearts and watching over you. If you need anything please let us know.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

As I think of my buddy Burt-o, I can only smile through the tears and wave both hands holding up peace signs. I am so glad to have had the opportunity to be around him as much as I did.  He was such a good hearted and contagious guy! I will never forget our many talks about life, our past's, and always family. If you didn't know that Burt loved his family, you were not listening. He is a good example of what it means to love well and I hope to take after him in that category! My thoughts and prayers are for peace and comfort for all. May he rest in peace and his memory live on.

Kathy, I am so sad to hear this. What a sweet spirit he had. One thing that was very obvious in my conversations with him was how much he loves you. Not just love but a sincere gratitude for how you stood by him. A contentment that only you could bring. A true soulmate, in his words. Praying for peace that passes all understanding for you and your beautiful family. Judy and Mark , it has been many years. Thinking of you in this difficult time.
