Preceded in death by granddaughter Nisa.

Survived by wife, Betty A. Nelms, children Darden (Tricia) Nelms, Karen (Mike) Rohling, Michael (Chandra) Nelms , 6 grandchildren , and extend family and special friends at St. Ann Catholic Church.

Carl retired from the Corps of Engineers after more than 30 yrs. and also worked part-time for over 52 yrs. with the Vanderbilt University Athletic Dept.

Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Breen Hall with the Rosary recited at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ann Catholic Church, 5101 Charlotte Pike, Rev. Steve Wolf celebrant. Interment to follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.

Active pallbearers Michael Rohling Jr., John Rohling, Daniel Peralta, Drew Schwetschenau, Emmette Forte and Charles Baker.

Honorary pallbearer Joe Coode.

The Family would like to recognize the compassionate care provided by West Meade Healthcare Center.
