30, 1989. She was born in Newman Memorial
Hospital in Emporia, Kansas. Sadly, and long
before her time, Cady left this world on May
2, 2020 in Brentwood, Tennessee where she
was residing at the time. She was a 30-yearold
singer/songwriter at the time of her
death.
Cady was the youngest of seven siblings and
brought much joy to the lives of her family.
Cady had many passions in life including
music, making others laugh, and cooking.
Cady loved her family, friends, and tacos and
she could brighten anyone’s day with her
smile. Cady’s family moved from Emporia,
Kansas to Marlow, Oklahoma in 1993 and
made a few other moves before landing in
Laughlin, Nevada, where she graduated from
high school, a year early, in 2006. She first
pursued her love of cooking by completing a
culinary arts program at Mohave Valley
Community College in 2007. Cady later
attended classes at Southwestern Oklahoma
State University, but after feeling unfulfilled,
decided it was time to pursue her passion for
music. She began writing lyrics and working
on her voice. Cady would often say that she
just knew she was meant to reach people, and
felt that she could do it through her music.
Cady spent years speaking out on social
media and trying to form a personal
relationship with her fans using funny videos,
music, and heartfelt messages. In 2009, that
dream was fulfilled for Cady when members
of the music community recognized her voice
and she was signed to a major label.
Cady is survived by her mother, Carol Ann
Petitt and four siblings, Kevan, Cody, Kyle,
and Kelsy plus half siblings Courtney, Adam,
and Carrie. She was also a proud aunt to a
couple handfuls of nieces and nephews. Her
beloved brothers, Casey Groves and Kelly
Groves, precede her in death.
Her family will lay Cady to rest at an
undisclosed time and location. Services in
honor of Cady are pending due to current
pandemic and will be scheduled when it
becomes socially responsible to do so.
