We knew Bruce when Frances was the nanny for twins Evan and Mary Kate Anderson, born Dec. 2005.  BruPa was a big favorite with the twins. I did not know he had passed away until today when I realized I had not heard from him in a long time. He will certainly be missed.

My family lived next to Bruce and his dear wife, Frances, in Brentwood, Tennessee. My three oldest boys, ages 7, 7, and 5, used to go over to Bruce’s house and help him and his wife work in their garden. They were very patient with my children and showed them how to garden and weed. When Francis came home with groceries, my children would help carry the bags from their car to their kitchen. My boys thought of Bruce as a friend and often asked him to play basketball in the cul-de-sac. Even though Bruce had arthritis, he went out to play basketball with my boys. After we moved away, Bruce sent us a card and letter every Christmas. He is a wonderful man who led a wonderful life.  He loved country music and he loved God, which showed in the way he loved us.

I am so sorry to learn this news. Bruce was our faithful piano tuner for many years, coming twice annually to keep our Steinway in excellent condition. He was always so kind and polite, and I enjoying catching up with him every time he visited. He will be missed. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

He definitely had a since of humor. Just learned of Bruces’ passing Monday a.m. from an old Evangel Temple friend which is where I first met the louder than life figure!  He once told what “Dad-Gum-It” meant… he said “Dad don’t gum it anymore, he got a new set of teeth!!!  Laughing out loud.  To Bruce’s daughters from  Lil’ Leeps (his nick-name for me back in late 80’s,   Plz keep your eyes looking up as we’re anticipating the return of our Glorious Savior, King, and friend! What a wonderful man!  Yes, he will be genuinely missed.
He has been tuning our piano since October of 98. We enjoyed every visit.  
When Gail’s mother (she could sight read any music) moved here from Kentucky, they formed a musical bond. After Ruth died in 2008,  he often commented that he had to tune the piano for her and occasionally thought she was talking to him, so he had to tune it right.

I am sorry for your loss. I went to school with Bruce in Lyons.  I lived 2 blocks from him. I last saw him at Opryland when he was playing with Porter Wagoner, many years ago.

Shellie and Valeri, my deepest sympathy at the passing of your dad. He remained in my heart and will. I remember all the fun and wonderful, crazy time we shared! His jokes, laughter, and his, "See you Tuesday" comment will always make me smile.  He was a fabulous guitar player, and I always loved going with him to the Opry all those years when he was with Porter. The last time we SAW Bruce was at his families auction in Lyons IN.
We bought an antique chest of drawers and he came up to us and said he was glad we won the bid.  Glad to see it go to family.  We may have been bidding against him and didn’t know it.
Such a talented, gracious and exceptional person. We remember well watching him on TV and saying, ‘He’s Family’.
He touched a lot of lives in such a good way and is leaving a wonderful legacy to those of us who are striving to meet the goal he has obtained. 
Although we won’t be able to be there, it makes us feel like we are as we read all the wonderful comments that are posted and the beautiful video.

I’m so thankful Bruce was part of my life for 10 years. He helped this “newbie” tremendously with his fathomless knowledge of the Nashville number system. He was always patient, kind, and lifting my spirits with his humor. I know he is in the hands of God and I will see him again. Rest In Peace my friend and brother in Christ.   - BJ

As I remember the story, my dad, Roy Lee Floyd, paid Bruce (a teenager at the time) $5 to play music at a square dance in Newberry. Dad always laughed, and said he made a professional out of Bruce. 

Bruce was very kind, and called to offer his sympathy when my mom passed away in 2007, and again, in 2010 when dad passed. 

Dad and Bruce also shared a funny joke about “old Stella,” a very inexpensive, but early and cherished guitar.

Loved to joke and he was always smiling!  Once when I couldn't be at home to meet him to tune my piano, I left a key for him under a rock on my patio.  He had to look under a bunch of rocks that bordered my patio-- I hadn't told him which rock!  Had to hear about it for years!  Bruce loved his guitar and his gkuitar, but most of all,  lhe loved his DEAR WIFE who died a few ayears ago.  I will miss him as will all of his family and friends!

We had become close friends meeting through Cowboy Church and David Smith.  Loved his sense of humor and his sincere attention to friends. Now I watch the door, waiting for him to enter...see you in Heaven  my friend, won't be far behind. Claude 

Bruce was such a dear friend, not only to Julie and I, but to countless others. We shared so many laughs and memories. We are thankful and happy that Bruce's suffering is over, yet we grieve that our time with him here is gone. Rest well and enjoy your newfound freedom. Jesus has you in His loving arms... 

i can see Bruce driving all over Heaven in his antique Mercedes his guitar by his side.  And, yes, he is still cracking jokes & laughing with his friends and other lost family members.  Though we will all miss him here, he has been rewarded for his brave battle with his health.  His faith in Jesus has carried him through and he is now at peace.

I’m so sorry to here of Bruce’s passing.  We have fond memories with Bruce and Frances .  We loved him. He was family to us always.
