passed away peacefully on Friday, July 6th, 2012. Survived by wife, Deborah L. Parker; son, Robert L. Parker (Lesley) of Memphis, TN; daughter, Carolyn Parker Akin (Doug) of Memphis, TN & granddaughter, Zoey Grace Parker, age 10. Preceded in death by his parents, Harry Alton & Barbara (Strassle) Parker & his brother, Harry A. Parker, Jr. Bob Attended Fort Smith High School in 1952 & was a 1959 graduate of the University of Arkansas; where he was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. He was a diehard Razorback fan. After many years in the sales industry (General Mills, Inland Steel & A J Smith) he joined his dear friend, Dean Chase as head of the Residental Division of D.F. Chase Construction from, where he retired. He was an avid Golfer & a member of Richland Country Club, Nashville Seniors Invitational Golf Association & Middle Tennessee Senior Golf Assn. Bob also was drafted & spent 2 1/2 years in the US Navy & was honorably discharged. Celebration of Life services will be held Thursday, July 12th, at 11:30 a.m. in Woodlawn's Dignity Hall, Bob's dear friend, Pastor John Gouldener will be officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 11th at Woodlawn from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. & 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bob's name may be made to Crossroads Community Church, 102 Woodmont Blvd., Suite 217, Nashville, TN 37205.
