Marilyn C. Miller, 78, of Nashua, NH passed away on Friday, December 19, 2014 at the Community Hospice House with her loving family by her side. She was born July 4, 1936 in Boston, MA, daughter of the late Raymond N. and Christine H. (McKinnon) Poli.
Mrs. Miller was the matriarch of her family. She was completely and totally dedicated to her family, from being the one to organize the family events and gatherings to remembering the birthdays, anniversaries and other important dates. She was the glue that bonded them together. Mrs. Miller was active in the VFW Hudson Post 5791 Hudson Ladies Auxiliary. She always enjoyed going out to lunch with her girls, her trips to Foxwoods and shopping at the mall. Her apprehension of travelling was always overcome by her love of going on vacation, knowing that great times were ahead visiting family and walking along the Grand Strand beaches in Myrtle Beach, SC collecting seashells.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years; Roland “Ron” Miller, Sr. of Nashua, three children; Colleen (Miller) Elways and her husband James of Nashua, Cheryl (Miller) Carter and her husband Craig of Nashua and Ron Miller and his wife Pauline of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by six grandchildren; Jennifer Roy, Jessica Elways, Daniel Miller, Alyssa Gonyea, Katherine Carter and Allison Carter, two great grandchildren; Tyler Roy and Penelope Elways, her sister; Barbara Leuci and her husband Robert M., Sr. of Charleston, SC as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers; Mario “Dusty” DeStefano and Thomas DeStefano.
Visiting hours were held Sunday, December 28, 2014 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm in the Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St., Nashua. A Liturgy of the Word Service was celebrated Monday, December 29, 2014 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 216 E. Dunstable Rd., Nashua, NH at 10:00 am. Interment followed in the NH State Veteran Cemetery, 110 DW Highway, Boscawen, NH at 12:30pm.
