Lillian (Fanos) Salis, of Nashua, NH passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 after a brief battle with cancer. She was born in Nashua, NH on January 14, 1927, the daughter of the late George and Konstantina (Sinopoulos) Fanos.
Lillian was educated in the Nashua school system, graduating from Nashua High School, Class of 1944 as Salutatorian. She married her husband, Nicholas on April 20, 1947 and, were blessed with 65 years of a good life together. Lillian was a simple gal who loved her God, her family and her friends. She was an active member of St. Philip Greek Orthodox Church. She was a lifelong member of the church choir and was a member of the church’s Philanthropic Ladies Society (AGAPE). Lillian loved going to Hampton Beach, playing bridge with the girls and was an avid golfer
She is predeceased by a brother, Michael Fanos, and a sister, Theodora Vathally.
Lillian is survived by her loving husband, Nicholas Salis of Nashua; three loving children, Peter Salis and his wife Susan of Seneca, SC, Connie Manus and her husband Lefty of Concord, NH and Michael Salis and his wife Karen of Nashua; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Bea Giokas of MA; sister-in-laws, Jennie Fanos, Becca Torosian and her husband George and Mary Poliquin; a cousin, Eva Chiavaras; as well as many nieces and nephews.
